Corrected thermostat settings to allow Wi-Fi connection to read outdoor temperature and set duel fuel settings to allow the gas furnace to run when outdoor temperature is 40 degrees and below.
Here a fall maintenance performed on a duel fuel, and no issues to report other than better air quality products. All amp draws are within tolerance, and are as follows indoor fan 1.99 amps combustion fan.30 flame sensor 9.3 mili volts igniter at 63.6 ohms. The heat rise is between manufacturing specifications, and the system is running in heat without fault.
Arrived due to issues with the second floor system blowing cold air. System is 2004 ICP heat pump. Diagnostic revealed the thermostat was set to circulation for the blower. Circulation setting allows blower to run periodically to cycle air in the home. Put fan setting back on automatic which allows the blower to only run when there is a heat/cool call. While diagnosing the system I performed a full inspection of the system and found several issues with the system. The single start assembly is weak and leaking fluid which will cause this component to fail. This component is what assists the blower motor with starting. Also found severe corrosion and rust on the electric heat kit as well as the indoor heat transfer coil. Rust on the heat transfer coil will cause refrigerant leaks which will reduce the operating efficiency of the system therefore increasing power bills. Will eventually lead to system not working. Informed homeowner of findings and discussed repair costs along with brie
I have thoroughly inspected all the outdoor components, confirming 240 volts through the contactor and a stable 24 volts on top of it for the A/C system. It's important to note that this system is 29 years old, and unfortunately, it was not operating at all.
