Here a regular schedule fall maintenance performed on a heat pump. One issue to report, and the single start assembly for the blower motor needs replaced. All amp draws are within tolerance, and are as follows compressor 6.18 outdoor fan.80 indoor fan 2.23 heat strips bank1 15.52 bank2 15.43. The refrigerant level was optimal with the suction being 120psi discharge 370psi. As of now the system is running in heat efficiently. The single start assembly for the indoor blower motor was found below tolerance, and replacement is recommended to assume regular function.
Here a two system fall maintenance performed on two heat pumps. There’s a couple issues to report. The downstairs system has high humidity, and insulation is starting to fall along with excessive dust inside the duct. A duct cleaning will be recommended, and a sealed crawl space consultation. Once inspected the primary drain downstairs has algae growth inside obstructing the flow of condensate. A condensate pan treatment will be recommended. All amp draws for downstairs are inside tolerance, and are as follows idf 1.78 heat strips bank1 21.62 bank2 16.65 compressor 4.67 odf .98 dual start assembly giving what it’s rated for suction pressure 135psi discharge 420psi. Upstairs idf 1.36 heat strip 14.05 single start assembly downstairs also giving what it’s rated for at 15.3 uf. Upstairs compressor 4.23 odf .64 suction pressure 145psi discharge 340psi. Both systems operating properly in heat at this time. To ensure the primary drain stays clear of algae 1 yr protection strip added to cond
Arrived due to continued issues with first floor American Standard AV/Furnace. System was installed in 2019. Corrected wiring from installation of condensate removal pump to allow proper shut off of the system incase of condensation back up. Nest thermostat was still giving error message of issue with Y wire. Further diagnostic revealed a failed voltage distribution system. Component attracted ants due to heat it emits during operation. Build up of ants caused component to short out and fail. Informed homeowners of findings and discussed repair options. Homeowner elected to proceed with repair of the failed component. Removed failed voltage distribution system and installed new voltage distribution system. Tested system operation, system is operating within manufacturer specifications at this time.
